Anambra bans social gatherings on school premises
The Anambra State government has banned weddings, shows, and other social events on school premises.
The state’s Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, stated this in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, in Awka on Saturday.
She said the move was to protect school premises from being messed up by members of the public.

Chuma-Udeh directed the Chairmen of the Post Primary Schools Services Commission (PPSSC) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) to pass the information to all principals and head teachers in the state.
“This is a warning to all principals and head teachers to desist from using school premises as commercial venture.
“Henceforth, any principal or primary school head teacher who indulges in such act will be severely dealt with,” the commissioner added.
