Senator Jibrin Barau has emerged the deputy Senate President of the 10 National Assembly.

He emerged unopposed after he was nominated by Senator David Umahi, a former governor of Ebonyi State.

Barau was the preferred candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the position.
