Senator Dino Melaye, a former lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has listed those to be held responsible should the invitation of Chinese doctors spike an increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.
Dino Melaye in a post on Twitter said that the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Health would be held responsible should that be the case in the long run.
The politician in the post on Tuesday therefore warned President Buhari against inviting Chinese doctors to Nigeria amid the COVID-19 pandemic which has infected 238 people in the country thus far.
Melaye wrote on Twitter; “PMB please stop the invitation of Chinese Doctors to Nigeria. Our Doctors are doing well in the circumstance.
“Let them go to countries with escalating cases of Coronavirus. If they come and there is an outrageous increase in cases, we will hold the FG and minister of Health responsible.”
Melaye’s comments came after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed when four new molecular diagnostic laboratories for testing the COVID-19 in Kano, Kaduna, Jos and Maiduguri will be ready for operations.
Director-General of the (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, during the sixth joint national briefing of the Presidential Taskforce Force (PTF) on COVID-19 on Monday in the city of Abuja said that the laboratories will be ready by the end of this week.
