Gov Udom escapes death as 50 die in church building collapse
Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom on Saturday escaped death by the whiskers, when a church building he was in collapsed.
At least 50 other people were not so lucky as they died when the Reigners Bible Church in Uyo the state capital caved in.
The governor who was in the church for the consecration of Pastor Akan Weeks as a Bishop was whisked to safety by his security aides, while many were trapped beneath the rubbles of the building.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Murtala Mani, confirmed the incident, but was unable to ascertain the exact number of worshippers who perished in the mishap as at the time of filing this report.

When the contractors won’t use quality materials to build the buildings, why won’t churches be collapsing here and there??

What we can do is to pray for the deceased that God should grant them perfect rest in paradise and to fight contractors who are keen in using inferior materials to build.

God grants the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
It has happened already.
