Nigeria’s GDP grows 2.28% in Q3 2019

Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 2.28 percent in the third quarter of 2019, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said.

The NBS, in the latest report published on its website, obeserved that when compared with the third quarter of 2018, which had a growth rate of 1.81%, the real GDP growth rate for the third quarter of 2019 indicates an increase of 0.47% points.

Also, in comparison with the second quarter of 2019, which had a growth rate of 2.12%, the third quarter of 2019 represents an increase of 0.17% points.

The report further indicated that on a quarter on quarter basis, the real GDP grew by 9.23%, adding that the third quarter 2019 growth rates represents the second highest quarterly rate recorded since 2016.
