Justice Musa Abubakar confirmed President of FCT Appeal Court

Justice Musa Abubakar Sadiq has been confirmed as the President of the Federal Capital Territory Division of the Customary Court of Appeal.

The Senate gave the confirmation following a motion moved by Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan at plenary on Thursday.

Senator Lawan who moved a motion through order 43, emphasized the necessity of the confirmation given that Senate was sitting for the last time in the 8th National Assembly.

“Mr. President, distinguished colleagues, we all know that we are sitting for the last time and in the interest of the nation, I want to move a motion that the Senate consider the screening of the nominee of Mr. President,” he said

Senator Chukwuka Utazi representing Enugu North Senatorial district seconded the motion.

Justice Musa Abubakar Sadiq was afterwards led into the Chambers by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang.

While addressing the lawmakers, Justice Abubakar mentioned hat his legal experiences from both the bar and the bench would guide him into administering justice accordingly, if confirmed.

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu adopted a motion confirming him as the President, FCT Customary Court of Appeal.
