In from Nifemi Daniel …
Nigeria coach, Sunday Oliseh, has stated that big players such as John Obi Mikel, Vincent Enyeama and Victor Moses must fight to earn their places in the Super Eagles.
Enyeama was initially called up for the games against Tanzania and Niger but pulled out of the squad after losing his mother, while Mikel and Moses were left out owing to their lack of playing time at English Premier League champions, Chelsea.
In Enyeama’s absence, Carl Ikeme has manned the posts for Oliseh’s Eagles, and has kept successive clean sheets against Tanzania and Niger.
When asked if Enyeama should feel threatened by the Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Oliseh said: “Nobody is irreplaceable. I think Nigeria is the only nation that is not replaceable. We all are replaceable.

“I retired and Nigeria continued and if anyone else retires Nigeria will continue. Like I said, there is still room for Enyeama, there is still room for John Obi Mikel, there is still room for Victor Moses, who I am so happy with because he has got his loan deal and is going to be playing more regularly.”
He added that the team is open to any player who is ready to prove himself and fight for the country.
“There is room for everybody. All I am asking from them (Mikel and Moses) is to get more playing time.
“We need them to be playing regularly for their clubs. Today (Tuesday) everybody who played for Nigeria plays (regularly) for their clubs. And at the same time they are showing the hunger that they want to play. But the ones who have played today have also started picking up points so obviously anyone who is coming in has to fight to get into the team, and that is what we want for Nigeria.”
