After being ‘rubbished’ by Stephanie Otobo, Keyamo withdraws as her counsel against Apostle Suleman

The drama surrounding the sexual allegation saga between Apostle Johnson Suleman and alleged Canadian based stripper and musician Miss Stephanie Otobo has taken another dimension.

Lagos lawyer, Festus Keyamo, has withdrawn his services as counsel to the accuser who has apologised for dragging the name of the clergyman in mud.

Reports say Keyamo withdrew his services as counsel to Miss Otobo after she claimed that her lawyer, Keyamo Chambers, made efforts, including email and text messages now in the custody of Apostle Suleman’s team, to persuade her to reverse her confession.

Miss Otobo went further when she deposed to an Affidavit of Disclaimer, stating, interalia, that the statement of defense filed at Ikeja high court, purportedly on her behalf by her lawyer was untrue.

She also added that the statement and photographs exhibited in the court processes did not come from her.

“I was invited to my lawyer’s chambers to sign a bundle of documents but when I asked what the bundle of documents were meant for, I was deceived and told they were to be sent to the Nigeria Police to release my cell phone seized from me in March 2017 when I was arrested by the Police for blackmail and extortion, following the complaint of Apostle Suleman,” she said.

Otobo also added that; “With my affidavit of disclaimer, my lawyer quickly ran to Ikeja high court where the civil suit filed by Apostle Suleman against me came up for hearing, seeking to withdraw as my counsel.”

“In the said letter, my lawyer’s chambers surprisingly admitted that they never knew any known address of their client (Stephanie Otobo) despite haven defended me so profusely.”

Keyamo’s withdrawal as counsel to Miss Otobo comes after the musician on Saturday, January 27th made a surprise visit to the Omega Fire Ministeries where she made an astonishing confession in front of the congregation saying she lied against Apostle Suleman.

During her visit and subsequent confession at the church in Auchi, Edo State founded by Apostle Suleman, Miss Otobo also revealed that she was paid handsomely by some politicians to tarnish the image of the clergyman.

Miss Otobo later appealed to the pastor and his wife, Lizzy, to forgive her which they did and Mrs Suleman later prayed for her and said she has forgiven her.

Miss Otodo had earlier alleged that she had an amorous affair with the Apostle, in which she got pregnant, and that he promised to marry her, but later dumped her.
