The eighth Senate in efforts to ensure that Senators utilize the benefits of new media, is organizing a training session to train the legislators in the use of Facebook allocation.

A letter of invitation to the Senators on Thursday by Sen. Isa Galaudu, the Chief of Staff to the Senate President, in Abuja, said that the free Facebook training, was in line with the promise of the leadership of the 8th Senate to utilise the social media.

“Senators and their aides will receive training on use of facebook in line with the promise of the President of the Senate to ensure more representative legislature using e-parliamentary tools.

“This is a partnership between the Office of the Senate President and Facebook.

“Senators and aides who wish to participate in the programme should please email [email protected] with their full names.’’

The Facebook team, led by the African Head of Public Policy, will be in Nigeria at the weekend for the training slated for Monday.

Special Assistant to the President of the Senate on Social Media, Bamikole Omishore, informed that the training is at no cost to the senate as Facebook offered to conduct the training for free.
