Suit to compel the arrest and prosecution of Fani-Kayode, Abaribe, others set to commence

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has approved a suit seeking to compel the Nigeria Police Force, its Inspector General, the Department of State Service, DSS and its Director General to arrest and prosecution a former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode and Senator Eyinanya Abaribe.

The suit is seeking an order of mandamus for the police and the DSS to arrest and prosecute Fani-Kayode and Abaribe alongside others for allegedly aiding the escape of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu from Nigeria.

Presiding judge, Justice John Tsoho, gave the approval for the commencement of trial while ruling on an ex parte application brought by the plaintiff, Mr. Isiah Ayugu.

He ordered the suit to be served on the defendants – the DSS, its Director-General, the police and the Inspector-General of Police while also fixing November 22 for the hearing of the suit.

Others the plaintiff is seeking their arrest and prosecution are Tochukwu Uchendu, and Emmanuel Shallom Ben.
