19-yr-old man arrested in connection with Manchester concert bombing

A the hunt continues for accomplices of Manchester concert bombing attacker Salman Abedi, the UK police have arrested a 19-year-old boy in connection with the attack which killed 22 people in May 22 this year.

Reports say the suspect who is now held in police custody was arrested by men of the Greater Manchester Police force on Friday at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport on suspicion of terrorism offenses.

Recall that on the day of the attack, Abedi- a Briton of Libyan heritage, detonated a homemade knapsack bomb as crowds were leaving an Ariana Grande concert.

In the days after the attack, police arrested 22 people on suspicion of terrorism offenses, but all were subsequently released without charge.

According to counterterrorism police chief Russ Jackson, “Abedi wasn’t part of a large network, but police suspect others “were either aware or complicit in the knowledge of this attack.”
