62 feared dead in Brazil plane crash

An ATR-72 plane with 62 passengers crashed in the city of Vinhedo in Brazil’s São Paulo state on Friday.

The plane operated by Voepass Linhas Aéreas, was heading to Guarulhos in São Paulo from Cascavel, in the state of Paraná when it crashed.

Video of the incident on social media showed the plane dropping to the ground before it disappeared behind a cluster of trees in the thick forest.

A large plume of black smoke erupted into the air a few seconds after the crash.

It has not been ascertained if there were survivors in the accident.
