BENUE KILLINGS: Buhari meets Gov Ortom, orders IGP to relocate

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a meeting with Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Though the agenda of the meeting is not known as at this time, it is expected that the talks will not exclude the killings in the state which have left several people dead, and houses burnt.

The killings are suspected to have been carried out by Fulani herdsmen.

The president, also earlier in the day ordered the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to relocate to Benue State to restore law and order and prevent the escalation of the herdsmen-farmers crisis in the State.

More details later…
