BLACK PANTHER: Nigerian gal casted for most anticipated Hollywood release

The movie “Black Panther” is poised to make box office history next week but the most interesting development for Nigerians back home is the fact that one of their own, named Sope Aluko will be among the cast of the Disney Marvel Studio production.

Expected to be released in Nigeria on February 16, 2018, the movie boasts of a 90% black cast including Sope, who plays the role of Shaman, a powerful primal leader who calls upon nature spirits for aid or guidance in Black Panther.

The married mother of two teenage boys who was born in Nigeria but primarily raised in the UK started out with an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a master’s degree in Marketing but later honed her acting skills when she attended drama classes at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and extended her study into dance.

Film credits for Sope who is currently filming another Marvel film includes supporting roles in feature films like Identity Thief, Pitch Perfect 2, 96 Minutes, Grass Stains.
