German club, Werder Bremen, has joined the race to sign Super Eagles and Lazio midfielder, Eddy Onazi, according to reports in Italy.

Swansea City and Watford have been taking an interest in the past few weeks but Werder Bremen have tabled a bid in the region of €7m to sign the Nigeria international who is now a surplus to requirements at the Serie A club.

Despite the recent injury to star midfielder Lucas Biglia, Lazio would still consider a serious bid from any interested club.

Lazio are already looking to the future without Onazi after reports they are lining up a possible replacement, and even if he doesn’t move in this window, a transfer seems very likely in the summer.

Onazi has struggled to get games with Lazio this season, and has made just 6 appearances in all competitions.
