FG to commence annual financial disclosure

The federal government has hinted of plans to come up with a policy to publish the nation’s annual accounts as part of its efforts to fight corruption.
Accountant General of the Federation, Mr Ahmed Idris who made this disclosure in Abuja on Wednesday stated that “to satisfy public awareness, we have made it a point of duty to publish monthly allocation of funds to the three tiers of government from the federation accounts and the OAGF is working to make it a deliberate policy to make public, annual national accounts of the country.”

He said doing this would be in line with the current administration’s philosophy of accountability and transparency.
Idris made this known when he paid a courtesy visit on the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), in Abuja.
