Reps issue 4-point declaration on NFF crisis

Embattled club owner, Chris Giwa, in his bid to win the battle for the soul of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday issued a statement warning banks and other corporate organisations against transacting business with Amaju Pinnick’s board.

Giwa who was summoned before the Disciplinary Committee of the federation by the NFF Congress for ‘putting Nigerian football to disrepute’, remains defiant insisting that he remains the authentic President of the NFF.

He said in a press statement signed by the chairman of chairmen of his ‘board’ Effiong Johnson, that: “The general public including all banks are warned to desist from doing business with the sacked and illegal body. If they so do, it is at their own risk.  All the banks where the NFF has accounts have been written to beware.”

“It has come to the notice of the Board of the NFF that some persons led by Pinnick are still parading themselves as the Board of the NFF in flagrant contempt to the orders of the court. They called and held a purported Emergency Congress of the NFF on the 13th April 2016. They even issued a communiqué.

“We hereby advise the general public to disregard the so-called outcome of that illegal and contemptuous Emergency Congress. The general public will recall that on the April 12, the Board of the NFF dissolved all the State FAs including that of the FCT,” the statement read.
