Gunmen kill vigilante member in Rivers

Gunmen on Wednesday killed a member of a local vigilante group, ONELGA Security Planning and Advisory Committee (OSPAC) in Rivers State.

Eyewitnesses told journalists on Thursday the victim identified as Prince was responding to a call about a case of kidnapping in the Igwuruta community of Ikwerre local government area of the state when he was killed in an ambush attack.

The spokesperson for the state Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident.

She said the command has commenced an investigation into the killing.
