POLL: Out of UK prison, Nigerians want Ibori probed for alleged looting of Delta

Though back in Nigeria from a UK prison where he served term for money laundering, EFCC alleges that Ibori still has some 170 charges pending against him at the Appeal Court in Abuja.

The anti-crime agency has accused him of embezzling about N40bn belonging to Delta State. Even the former Chairman of the EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu, alleged that the former governor attempted to bribe him with $15m cash.

Should Ibori face another trial in Nigeria for allegedly looting the resources of Delta State?

Yes. Very well. The idiot must be jailed in Nigeria to experience real prison and not the enjoyment in London prison.

In an ideal system, the man should be tried for his crime against his people. If he can be convicted in London for crime against UK, why should he not be tried for crime against Deltans. But unfortunately we all know he will eventually go free, all he need to do is to join the ruling party and he automatically become a saint. Perhaps that is the reason behind the funfair when he arrived. Someone who should be remorseful.

What’s wrong with him going back to jail? Let him suffer the consequeces of his evil actions. Ibori should face trial, it’s simple. Nigeria cannot flush out corrupt leaders if we keep giving them soft landings.

This Ibori is a serious criminal, after serving jail term in United Kingdom, he still has 170 charges pending against him at the Appeal Court in Abuja, not even 1, not 2, not 5, but, 170! I hope he won’t spend the rest of his lives in jail. The cases against him are too much
