No major infection in Queens College, LASG assures.

Emerging reports on Monday say parents of students at Queens College, Yaba, Lagos are scrambling to retrieve their wards from the school over speculations that there has been another outbreak of infectious diseases at the institution.

Unconfirmed reports say about 700 students have been sent home to seek better health care.

It was gathered that the school resolved to send them home when the sick bay could no longer contain them.

A parent of a former student of the school told Ripples Nigeria that “I heard the same thing an hour ago. I will confirm from my friends and get back to you.”

It was also learnt that parents, due to the development, had been contacted to pick their children from the school.

Another unconfirmed report said the Chairman of the Parent Teachers Association, John Ofoke, had been denied access to the sick bay after requesting to observe some hospitalized.

There had been a similar outbreak of infectious diseases leading to the death of three students about two years ago.
