Sowore's #RevolutionNow surfers another setback as nine Northern groups back out

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday released the convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore, from custody.

The activist was released a few hours after the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), directed the secret police to release him and the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

The Sahara Reporters publisher left the DSS custody at 6.20 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sowore was arrested in August after spearheading a protest against perceived misrule by the present administration.

He has been arraigned alongside one Olawale Bakare by the DSS on treasonable felony charges.

The duo’s trial will resume on January 20.
