The Adamawa State government led by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has relaxed the COVID-19 order earlier imposed on the state about two weeks ago to check the spread of the deadly virus.

Governor Fintiri who revealed this on Tuesday during a statewide broadcast informed that people could now move anywhere across the state and workers on level one to 14 should resume normal office work with effect from Wednesday, April 15.

He said, “Fellow citizens, as a responsible government, we remain on high alert and will do everything to keep the state COVID-19 free.

“In addition, screening and detection of suspected cases will be maintained at all entry points while internal surveillance will be sustained across the state.”

This comes after the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Tuesday ordered the total lockdown of the state following the rising cases of coronavirus among the people.

Ganduje, who disclosed this at a meeting with various stakeholders in the state, said the directive takes effect from 10:00 p.m. on Thursday.
