Afghani policeman opens fire on 8 sleeping colleagues, kills them

A trigger-happy Afghani cop did the unthinkable when he opened fire on eight of his colleagues (all members of the same family) who were all sleeping when he decided to attack.

Reports say the cops were killed in northern Afghanistan on Friday after a colleague working with the Taliban drugged and shot them at a checkpoint, before the assailant fled the scene of the incident.

According to Faryab province, provincial police spokesman Abul Karim Yoresh, the victims, four regular police and four auxiliary officers, “were drugged by their colleague who then opened fire on them at a police checkpoint in the Almar district of Afghanistan”.

Police are now on the trail of the suspect who is believed to have “fled back to the Taliban” even as no group claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
