Australian minister blames hackers for the ‘like’ on a porn video on his Twitter handle

Australian Minister for Defence Industry Christopher Pyne has blamed hackers for a “like” on his Twitter account to a pornographic video which appeared on his profile at about 02:00 local time on Thursday.

However, the “like” has since been removed and Mr Pyne said the hackers had possibly liked the gay pornography as “mischief” after Australia’s same-sex marriage vote.

Mr Pyne, a veteran senator, who was appointed to his current ministerial position last year to deliver a major submarine fleet project also added that he was asleep when the Twitter activity took place.

Responding to his explanation, some Twitter users treated Mr Pyne’s response with scepticism, while others raised concerns over possible security implications of the possible hack.
