196 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed as Nigeria’s total hits 1728

For the second consecutive day, Nigeria recorded about 200 cases of COVID-19 after the nation’s centre for disease control confirmed 196 cases in Lagos and 11 other parts of the country.

The centre in daily COVID-19 updates posted on its Twitter handle on Wednesday night, showed the following: Lagos (87), Kano (24), Gombe (18), Kaduna (17), Federal Capital Territory (16) and Katsina (10).

Others are – Sokoto (8), Edo (7), Borno (6),Yobe (1), Ebonyi (1) and Adamawa (1).

With the latest figure, Nigeria now has 1, 728 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 51 deaths.

However, 307 patients have been discharged from hospitals and isolation centres by medical experts.

NCDC said: “As at 11:55 p.m. 29th April- 1728 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.

“Discharged: 307 AND Deaths: 51.”
