Two persons have been reportedly killed and several others injured after an uncompleted eight-storey building collapsed in Owerri, Imo State, on Thursday.

An unspecified number of workers were working in the building located in Yar’Adua drive in the Imo State capital when it went down on Thursday morning.

While several workers are still trapped in the debris, 10 persons have been rescued and taken to the hospital in the area.

Efforts to rescue the remaining workers are ongoing.

One of the survivors who was introduced as Prosper told journalists that the pillars holding the building were not strong enough to carry the weight of the structure.
