Buhari receives report on Financial Autonomy for state legislature, judiciary

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday at the State House, Abuja, received the Report of the Presidential Implementation Committee on the Financial Autonomy of State Legislature and State Judiciary.

The Report was presented by the Chairman of the Committee, former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Abubakar Malami, SAN.

When asked by newsmen why he led the panel to submit the report, Malami replied, “Am I still a minister of justice and Attorney General of the Federation?

“It is the prerogative of the president to appoint anyone as a member, a Nigerian for that matter and inclusive of someone from outside. I think this remains a constitutional prerogative of the president.”

Meanwhile, President Buhari had earlier on December 10, 2018, when Malami was still the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, named him as the chairman of the panel.
