Style… Colour me beautiful

Woke up with a jolt, Arghhh!! I missed my alarm yet again, a quick rush to the bathroom and finally standing in front of my closet, myriad of different outfits dancing before me and am wondering should I pair this color with that?
Does this shirt color match the color of this pant? Won’t I look like a clown pairing these colors? And all I can think of is the biblical “coat of many colors” and I cringe inwardly…. Well well this used to be my daily struggle until I found certain helpful tips. The matchy-matchy game doesn’t always have to be a struggle,
In fact 99.9% of the time it could be on point with these tips. Enjoy.
TIP 1) Keep It In The Family: Basically there are three families in the color scheme. They are the “Neutrals” which are generally black, white and grey and any color that blends very well with other outfits. We also have “Cool Colors” which are calm and soothing, they have blue, pink or red undertone. And lastly we have the “Warm Colors” which are vibrant colors and have yellow, gold or orange undertone to them.

TIP 2) Using The Color Wheel: Making use of the color wheel is a sure way to match outfits. Colors opposite each other on the wheel compliment and also colors at 90 degrees to each other also complement themselves. e.g red and blue.

TIP 3) Try The Ombre Test: Ombre is the blending of different shades of one color. For example pairing a royal blue skirt with a sky blue top or pairing purple with pink.

TIP 4) Using Shop Samples: Online shops like zara and J. Hack crew usually show illustrations of paired up clothes and you can recreate them using similar outfits in your wardrobe.

TIP 5) Lawyer’s Code : finally if you are in doubt just try the black and white combination you can never go wrong.
