A police constable has turned his gun the other way round killing himself and two of his colleagues.

The incident, which happened at Nangere Police Division in Yobe state on Friday was said to have been triggered by disagreement over a homicide case, brought to the station.

The constable, whose name is yet to be known, was said to have first shot two inspectors at close range before killing himself.

“He shot himself after killing the two other inspectors at the station,” an eyewitness said.

The State police command Public Relations Officer, ASP Toyin Gbadegesin, said the police authority has begun investigation into the matter.

“A constable in Nangere went berserk this morning, grabbed a rifle and shot two inspectors who died instantly.

“He shot himself too but did not die instantly but was rushed to the hospital.

“The cause of his action is not known yet but investigation into the unfortunate incident has begun to unravel the remote and immediate cause of his action,” he said.
