OSUN POLL RESULT: Okorocha admits APC has a lot of work to do ahead 2019

Some properties belonging to former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, and his family members have been sealed by operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Among the sealed properties are Rochas Foundation College; East High Primary and Secondary school, Owerri, said to belong to the former governor’s first daughter, Uloma Nwosu, as well as All-In Supermarket, Owerri, allegedly owned by a member of Okorocha’s family.

Okorocha currently represents Imo West senatorial district at the Senate. He held sway as the governor of Imo from 2011 to 2019.

All the properties now have an inscription on them reading, “Under investigation by EFCC, keep off.”

Meanwhile, the management of East High Primary and Secondary School has claimed that the school was not sealed by the anti-graft agency.

According to a statement signed by Jones Onwuasoanya and released by the school management on Wednesday, the property was only being investigated by the EFCC.

He said though the EFCC had the constitutional power to investigate the school, he was sure nothing untoward will come out of the investigation because funds used in establishing the schools were legitimate.

The former governor is yet to respond on the matter.

Earlier reports soon after Okorocha handed over to the new governor, Emeka Ihedioha, which claimed that the EFCC had sealed properties belonging to the former governor and his family members turned out to be fake news.
