Mobile banking: Better synergy between telcos, banks advocated

Published

on

FBNQuest has called for improved synergy between telecommunication firms and banks in order to boost mobile banking growth.

Specifically, it cited recent data from the Nigeria Interbank Settlement System (NIBSS) as well as the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), which indicates: “there is still vast room for improvement with regards to financial inclusion,”

Commenting on the latest NBS data in a note obtained by New Telegraph yesterday, the financial services firm pointed out that in terms of volume and value of transactions on electronic payment channels in the country, Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Point-of-sale (PoS) recorded better growth than mobile payments.
