Pope calls on scientists to ensure COVID-19 vaccine reaches every country of the world

WASHINGTON: Catholic church names 31-ex clergymen accused of abusing minors

The Roman Catholic Church leader, Pope Francis has urged world scientists to unite and ensure that every country of the world benefited from the COVID-19 vaccine when it is made.

He made the call in his Sunday service address, which he delivered from the papal library at the Vatican.

“In fact, it is important to unite scientific capabilities, in a transparent and impartial way to find vaccines and treatments.

”It is also important to guarantee universal access to essential technologies that allow each infected person, in every part of the world, to receive the necessary medical treatment,” he said.

Pope also commended those providing essential service during this period of the pandemic.

The world scientists have been making frantic efforts to produce vaccines for the treatment of the novel Coronavirus pandemic currently ravaging the world.

World Health Organization (WHO) said some vaccines meant for the treatment of the virus were currently being tested on human.

The virus has infected about 3.5 million people worldwide and killed no less than 240,000 people.
