Twitter users slam Ben Bruce for requesting contact of Nigerian Rower

The exploits of American born Nigerian Rower, Chierika Ukogu at the on-going Rio 2016 Olympics has caught the attention of many Nigerian’s who are applauding her efforts after she placed fifth in the third quarter final of the Women’s single sculls, clocking a time of 7:54.44 seconds and becoming Nigeria’s first ever rower in the Olympics to have gotten that far.

One of those who got excited by her performance was Senator Ben Murray Bruce who took to his Twitter page asking if anyone has the phone number of Chierika who has done Nigeria proud with her performance at the Olympics.
But the controversial Senator got a deluge of scathing remarks and backlash from Nigerian Twitter users who slammed him saying Nigerian leaders do not do enough to encourage talented Nigerian’s but only apply ambush tactics when such talented nationals do great exploits just as Chierika has done at the Rio Olympics.
