Two dead, 7 injured as tree falls on passers-by in Kwara

Two persons were confirmed dead when the branch of a big tree fell on passers-by in the Sango area of Ilorin, Kwara State, on Monday.

An eyewitness told journalists that seven other persons were seriously injured in the incident.

He said the injured victims are currently receiving treatment in private hospitals, and the Ilorin General Hospital.

The spokesman for the state police command, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the incident.

He said: “Two persons died while seven others sustained injuries and are still undergoing treatment.

“Investigation on the case is ongoing. Details would be public at the end of the process.”
