With Daura out, EFCC arrests ex-DSS boss Ekpeyong

A former Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS) Mr. Ita Ekpenyong has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Ekpenyong was arrested on Thursday reportedly in connection with a N17 billion alleged fraud in DSS.

It would be recalled that an attempt by the EFCC to arrest Ekpenyong in the past was foiled by operatives of the DSS.

This is said to be one of the many sins of the sacked DSS boss, Lawal Daura, who was dismissed from office on Tuesday by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

The EFCC operative who stormed Ekpeyong’s House in Asokoro area of Abuja, came in three buses and some patrol vehicles accompanied by over 20 armed policemen.

The arrest was effected after a search of the residence.
