You're an unserious leader, Ezekwesili lambasts Saraki

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, on Wednesday dubbed Senate President Bukola Saraki as an unserious leader who lacks respect for the citizens of the country.

Ezekwesili was reacting to the position of the Senate on Tuesday that the move to recall Senator Dino Melaye by his constituent, Kogi West senatorial district and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would amount to an exercise in futility.

She called on Saraki to be mindful of how he talks to Nigerians because it was wrong to talk down on citizens on their constitutional rights.

Expressing dismay over the position of the Senate in a series of tweets on her twitter handle directed at Saraki, she said, “Digging in your pattern of ‘pocketizing’ our democratic institution, right? I sorry for you and your ilk.

“No serious leader of any institution of Democracy in a serious country that respects its citizens speaks like you

“Many of us have no dog in the Kogi recall fight. But, it is a democratic provision. Don’t talk down on citizens.”
