Abaribe: You Can’t Hold Me Responsible If Kanu Fails to Appear in Court

As the October 17 date for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, whose whereabouts remains unknown, draws closer, one of his sureties and senator representing Abia South, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has said he cannot be held responsible if the IPOB leader fails to appear in court.

Abaribe said this yesterday, during an interview on ARISE News; the sister broadcast station of THISDAY Newspapers.
He said prior to the intervention by the military, Kanu had always assured him that he would be in court on the said date.

Abaribe explained: “He was supposed to appear in court on October 17. It was our job as sureties to produce him in court. We have been speaking with him.

“I spoke with him around August 23. I had to invite him to a meeting with the South-east Senate caucus in my home at Obingwa, in Abia”.
