Lagos govt orders public officers to stay home, except essential services

The Lagos State government on Sunday ordered workers in the public sector to stay at home for 14 days in a bid to halt the spread of Coronavirus in the state.

The state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, gave the directive at a press briefing on the Coronavirus pandemic in the state.

He, however said the directive applied to the state civil servants on level one to 12.

The governor also said workers on essential services are exempted from the stay at home order.

Lagos has 19 confirmed cases of Coronavirus after the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed three fresh cases on Sunday morning.

The government also discovered seven cases of COVID-19 in the state on Sunday.

Nigeria currently has 27 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, although two persons have been discharged after they were certified medically fit by the country’s health authorities.
