Eagles coach: NFF gives Technical Committee seven-day  ultimatum

Latest reports reaching Ripples Nigeria reveal that newly appointed coach of the Super Eagles, Paul Le Guen, has rejected the offer given to him by the Nigeria Football Federation.

The Technical and Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation on Monday named Frenchman Le Guen, 52, as the new Technical Adviser of the Senior National Team, Super Eagles stating that the appointments are subject to agreement of contract terms with the NFF Executive Committee.

The Nigeria Football Federation also approved the appointments of the trio of Salisu Yusuf, Alloy Agu and Imama Amapakabo as Assistant coaches to Le Guen.

But Ripples Nigeria exclusively scooped that the Frenchman is rejecting the job due to the tough conditions given by the NFF.

Firstly, the NFF stated that he must qualify Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup but the Frenchman stated that he wants to build and develop a new Super Eagles that will qualify for the competitions adding that he does not want to be put under any form of pressure.

Secondly, the former Cameroon coach rejected the offer to live in Nigeria as he insisted he will be available whenever there is a national assignment, a move the NFF is not favourably disposed to.

Finally, he also told the NFF that he would be bringing his own Technical Assistant asking that he needs only one Nigerian coach to work with as against the three named by the Football Federation.

New Eagles’ boss Le Guen steered the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals.

He played for Brest, Nantes and Paris Saint Germain and won 17 caps for France, before coaching Rennes, Lyon, PSG (in France) and Glasgow Rangers (in Scotland). He also coached Oman.
