Suspense as GEJ, Jega, security chiefs meet

President Goodluck Jonathan; Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, and heads of the nation’s security agencies are presently in a crucial meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

While Jega is expected to brief the group on the latest preparation for the forthcoming general elections, the security chiefs are expected to brief on the success so far recorded in their anti-terrorism war and preparations for the elections also.

Jega later emerged from the meeting, and when State House correspondents asked him about the meeting, he simply said, “I believe it went well.”

The security meeting is still ongoing.

A pronouncement on the forthcoming elections is expected at the end of the meeting.
