Buhari calls Leah Sharibu’s mother

President Muhammadu Buhari, Wednesday, is said to have spoken with Mrs Rebecca Sharibu, mother of the Dapchi Secondary schoolgirl, Leah, who had been kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists.

Leah has been in the terrorists’ den since she was abducted, along with 109 other girls since February 9, 2018. While the others have been released, Leah was held back allegedly because she refused to renounce her Christian faith.

During the phone call to Mrs Sharibu, Buhari was said to have assured her that his administration will do everything it would take to bring her daughter back home.

According to Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity) Garba Shehu who made this known in a statement, the President consoled the Sharibu family and assured the parents that the Federal Government would do its utmost for the safety and security of their daughter.

“I convey my emotion, the strong commitment of my administration and the solidarity of all Nigerians to you and your family as we will do our best to bring your daughter home in peace and safety,” President Buhari told her.
