COVID-19: Mike Adenuga Foundation donates N1.5bn

Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., through the Mike Adenuga Foundation (MAF), has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to the federal government to support Nigeria’s fight against the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The money is made up of N1 billion to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) which is coordinating efforts to raise funds from corporate bodies to support the initiatives aimed at combating the COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Reports say N500 million was also donated to the Lagos State Government which has recorded the majority of the cases of the pandemic.

Mrs. Bella Disu, Executive Vice Chairman of Globacom, presented the N500 million cheque to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in Lagos today, Monday, while a representative of the Foundation presented the cheque for N1 billion to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele in Abuja.
