Doctor, wife kept Nigerian as slave for 24 years

For keeping a man as a slave for 24 years at their home, a doctor and his nurse wife have been found guilty of slavery and are both set to face jail terms.
According to the victim, Ofonime Sunday Inuk, now 40, who narrated his ordeal while at the Harrow Crown Court, he was made to look after the couple’s home and children when he arrived in the UK from Nigeria in 1989 at the age of 14.

The couple, Emmanuel and Antan Edet, who are from Perivale, north west London, were found guilty of three slavery and cruelty charges.
However, they both denied the charges leveled against them and are due to be sentenced on 18 November.
