EFCC grills Ihejirika again, directs ex-COAS to Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday grilled a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika (retd.), for the second day.

It was learnt that Ihejirika arrived at the Abuja office of the EFCC around 12pm and was grilled for a few hours after which he was allowed to go.

Sources within the commission told PUNCH correspondent that Ihejirika was directed to its office in Lagos for more questioning.

A detective at the anti-graft agency said, “Ihejirika, who was indicted in the $2.1bn arms scam, has been answering questions regarding weapons procurement and why five of his relatives were given contracts without due process.
