HANDSHAKE WITH BUHARI: Must this govt lie about everything? Fani-Kayode asks

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to the alleged attack on President Muhammadu Buhari in Kebbi State on Thursday.

A video trending on social media showed a young man approaching Buhari in a move suggesting he wanted to attack him.

He had almost reached the president before he was stopped by security operatives.

The operatives were said to have shot the young man on the leg.

Following the incident, there have been claims the young man wanted to attack Buhari.

But the Presidency, in its response denied any intention for attack. It said he was so excited to be very close to “his President” and merely made an attempt to reach and greet him.

However, in his response in a tweet on his Twitter handle-@realFFK, Fani-Kayode wrote:

“I don’t know what that young man had in mind but this is the first time that I have ever heard of a citizen wanting to “greet” his President by charging at him.

“Must this Government lie about everything? Must they put a spin on every event? Do they think that we are fools?

“And by the way, if all he wanted to do was to give ‘his President a handshake’ because he was ‘very excited’ to see him, then why shoot the poor boy in the leg?”
