Heart attack, bruises likely cause of Ronke Shonde's death, autopsy result reveals
The result of an autopsy report by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) carried out on Mrs. Ronke Shonde, the ex-banker who was allegedly killed by her husband Lekan Shonde reveals that his wife may have gave up the ghost due to Acute Respiratory Seizure (ARS) and water in the head.
That much was gathered when the autopsy report for Ronke was presented to officials of the Yaba Division of the Police State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department  (SCIID), Panti, Lagos.
Other details of the autopsy report which put the cause of Ronke’s death as myocardial infarction- a medical name for heart attack, include the fact that the attack may have been triggered by an abnormal electrical activity in the brain; a severe blow to the head, acute fever or heavy intoxication.
However, an insider who confirmed the result released by LASUTH said further investigations will still be carried out to actually ascertain the cause of Ronke’s death especially as there is no link between the bruises on the woman’s skin to her death.
Also the insider revealed that it is still not also clear if any of the three causes of deaths were as a result of violence or battery.
Commenting on the released autopsy report, Superintendent of Police (SP), Dolapo Badmos said she could only confirm that the autopsy result for Ronke had been released.
“I can only confirm to you that the autopsy result is out. I cannot give you any other information because it is for the purpose of investigation. There is a directive from the IGP that no one should release any information on that issue.” She said.
Continuing, Badmos noted that; “The result has not been opened and the family members are yet to be told. At the right time, the public will know.”
