IOC seeks suspension for Diack

Lamine Diack should be provisionally suspended as an honorary member of the International Olympics Committee, the IOC’s ethics commission has recommended.

Diack, the former president of the International Association of Athletics Federations, is under investigation by French police for allegedly receiving more than one million euros to cover up doping.

The 82-year-old from Senegal, who stepped down as IAAF president in August, is accused of being complicit in a cover-up of doping by Russian athletes.

His son Papa Massata Diack, adviser Habib Cissé and the former director of the IAAF’s medical and anti-doping department Gabriel Dollé are also being investigated by French police.
Diack has yet to comment.
