The atmosphere in Kogi is currently tensed as the Department of State Services, DSS, has arrested Hon. James Faleke, the running mate to late Abubakar Audu and his son, Mohammed Audu.

Supporters of Faleke and Audu are aprehensive of their fate.

It was gathered that the arrest may not be unconnected with threats of violence by the many support groups clamouring for the declaration of Faleke as the duly elected governor of the state.

This, according to sources, made the DSS invite them for questioning, just as the January 27 inauguration of Governor-Elect elect, Yahaya Bello is fast approaching.

According to a source, Faleke, a two term member of the House of Representatives, arrived the Headquarters of DSS at about 10.00am Saturday and is still been held as at the time of this report.

Confirming the development, the Director of Media and Publicity of Audu/Faleke Campaign Organization, Hon. Duro Meseko, said the the campaign organization was yet to come to terms with the invitation.

According to him, Faleke is a strong believer in the rule of law and has decided to pursue his case through legal means. He expressed confidence in the non-partisanship of the DSS.

It will be recalled that Faleke has been adamant on been declared the Governor-Elect of Kogi State after the sudden death of the governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu while collation of result was ongoing. His party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, however chose Alhaji Yahaya Bello as replacement for Audu instead of his running mate, Faleke.
