Nigeria’s Flying Eagles to face Mali in U-20 AFCON semi-final

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will face their Malian counterparts in the semifinal of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Niger.

Mali finished second in Group B after they defeated Ghana 1-0 in their final group game on Saturday.

The Flying Eagles topped Group A with seven points with two wins and a draw from their three group games, and a billed to face the runners-up of Group B.

Both teams also clashed in the semi-final of the U-20 WAFU Cup in Togo in December with Nigeria winning 1-0 to reach the final of the sub-regional tourney.

The other semifinal clash in Niger will be between Senegal and South Africa at the Seyni Kountche Stadium on Wednesday.

Nigeria will battle Mali also on Wednesday at the Stade Seyni Kountche, Niamey.
