Omeruo wants Olympics action with Nigeria

Kasimpasa of Turkey defender, Kenneth Omeruo has expressed his desire to represent Nigeria at the Rio Olympics in Brazil.

The 22-year-old who is on loan from Chelsea is also working hard to have his Turkish club book a place in the Europa League
“I just want to finish the season as well as possible and try and help Kasimpasa into a European spot. After that we will start thinking about next season. There is also the Olympics which I might be involved in, he told official Chelsea website.

Kasimpasa are currently 5th just two points behind Istanbul rivals Basaksehir in fourth and 10 points off 3rd placed Konyaspor.

The former youth international has established himself as a first team star in the Kasimpasa team that has one of the best defensive records in the league this season.

Omeruo was widely praised for his recent performance in the 2-1 victory over league leaders Besiktas especially for being able to keep Germany international Mario Gomez quiet for most of the game.

The young defender is expected to start against Kayserispor in the Turkish Super League tomorrow.
